In our lesson today one of the tutors was
informing us about various different brands, which I found quite interesting;
they said that when brands spiral downhill, they have to advertise campaigns in
order to bring their brand back up on the market.
Examples of various different brands that have campaigned:
I had learnt that French connection is initially a brand
that draws young customers to buy their clothing, but as the time went on they
had attracted older people to their brand rather than the people they are
stocking for.
Here is their 2014 Campaign:
I was researching online recently where Victoria Secret had
originally did an advertisement/ campaign where they stated the ideal perfect
body, which showcased a range of Victoria secret models and angels wearing the
brand clothing with that caption written on it.
The overall reaction did not seem to go well, and ended up
with people giving negative feedback which resulted in the brand to change the
caption.
Here is the original one:
People had started advertising picture of their own to
campaign against the advertisement.
So how did they change their ad?
They had then changed their caption.
I had realised that if they didn’t go ahead with the change
it could damage the profile of the brand on the amount of:
·
Customer loss.
·
Income of the company.
·
Staff.
·
Brand name.
·
Popularity on social media and in general etc…
Next week we are going to be heading over to Selfridges to
do some research which should be interesting….
